History So Far
-- 24/05/07 -- Wednesday
This web site will get an upgrade next month.
Dupal will be used as the interface here as it will allow the wider community to contribute to the development of the wireless network.
The jetty hotspot will be the next one of the rank (have to access point), followed by the hotspot on Stoker house (it has been running for a year not connecting to any thing).

Lots of testing has been done all over Coffs...have also bought a new house and have been renovating over the last couple of months.
This site will be upgraded over the next to use blogging software - make it a bit more interactive.
There are four sites that we will be trying to get proper services to over the next couple of weeks, and they are:-
- Jetty Village
- Stoker House
- Creek Tower
- Common Weath Bank

We haven't done anything this last week. Just waiting for parts - there on there way...
-- 27/02/06 -- Monday
The weekend was pretty sucsessfull - Got the first access point up and running. Will now test it over the next week or so...
No Internet access yet as we are still waiting for the replacement bridge. Have ordered a few...just incase ;-)
-- 20/02/06 -- Monday
Been a hard slog over the weekend. Have now built the omni directional antenna - works ok but not as much gain as we had expected.
Have built the modified access point and placed it into a waterproof box.
Everything is ready to go, but we had a melt down with bridge (it will not recognise the ether port). Can't get one until Wednesday.
When we get the bridge we will install the access point - It will be on the side of Stoker House (crn Gordon St & Park Ave for those who need to have a look).
-- 16/02/06 -- Thursday
It was to wet for us to climb around on the roof *SIGH*.
-- 15/02/06 -- Wednesday
Now have all the parts to put the first hot spot up in town.
Still haven't built the antenna. Will have to do it though - the first access point will be a multi point for the whole network and it needs a good omni.
You can look at the designs at Wireless.gumph.org
